Antique Japanese Red & Black Wood Lacquer Kashizara Plate Floral Gold Makie 7" Reproduction when filled with a doughThis is an antique (c. 1890) Meiji era Japanese lacquer kashizara plate. This is all hand turned cryptomeria wood with over 20 thin coats of Japanese red lacquer with makie (raised gold) art work. This plate has been stored in the original storage box (see last picture box is not included). Having been in storage for over a century, with exception to very minor signs of past use, this kashizara plate remains in good polish and in very good condition.
