ソウルにある商店街「Kiljong Arcade」でつくられた家具やオブジェ、空間をまとめた作品集。アーケードの代表であるパク・キルジョンは、2010年以来、各店主が長年の時間をかけて学んだ知恵と知識でアーケードを運営しながら、彼らと共同でオブジェや家具、空間を制作しています。本書は、商店街の運営とデザインを同時に行うその地道で独特な10年以上に及ぶ活動の記録をまとめたもの。非定型的な形、異質な材料の組み合わせ、原色の配合など、ギルジョン商店街特有の造形言語が混ざり合い、互いに影響し合いながら新しい景色を生み出しています。このような態度は本の物理的な構造にもつながり、デザイナーのシン・ドンヒョクの解釈を経て、一冊の本の中で様々なテクスチャが結ばれています。
