Pair of Shandong Elm Stools l180 When digging an air raidShandong, circa 1900 This lovely pair of stools are from Shandong in northern China, made from elm wood. The square seat panels are set within thick outer frames and, finished with a dark wood stain and varnish, show off the attractive wood grain beautifully. The style is classically Chinese, with 'waisted' seats, horse hoof feet and S shaped stretchers set high between the legs. Other nice details are the various tenon ends visible on the seat frames
