ロンドンのスウィンギング60年代には、グラフィックなラインとテキストを組み込んだ作品を、1970年代のカリフォルニアのライフスタイルを表現した有名なスイミング・プール・シリーズを、生まれ故郷のヨークシャーに戻った後は、注意深く観察された肖像画や鮮やかな色彩の特大の風景画など、常に忘れがたいイメージを生み出してきました。ドローイングに加え、多視点的なポラロイドのコラージュ、現代的なメディアを使って光をとらえたiPadのドローイングなど、ホックニーの絶え間ない実験への喜びを垣間見ることができます。
