スイス連邦工科大学チューリッヒ校（ETH Zurich）において、建築家フリーク・ペルシン（Freek Persyn / 51N4E）が率いる建築・都市変容講座「Newrope」。彼らは建築を単なる物理的な構築物としてではなく、社会的・政治的なプロセスの中に位置づけ、既存の都市や環境がいかに変容（Transformation）しうるかを教育と実践の両面から探求しています。

本年の審査では、物理的、触覚的な経験としての本についてたびたび言及しています。表紙だけではなく、本の内側と外側の全体に十分な注意が払われているか。また、紙の感触から重さまで、触覚体験について考慮されているのか。どのように持ち運ばれ、どのように開かれるのか。そして、クライアントから編集者、デザイナー、リソグラファー、印刷業者、製本会社などに至るまで、制作に関わるすべての人たちの協働の痕跡を、それぞれ一冊の本から紐解いています。これらの触覚的な体験とプロセスを視覚化したうつくしい写真と編集、デザインによって、2022年のオランダのブックデザインの哲学を見事にあらわした作品集です。デザインは若林亜希子によるもの。
