This tansu chest is made with pegged-tenon open-mortise corner box joint construction (see picture 11)

The Money Bag is a symbol of wealth and abundance and is used in Feng Shui as a way to invite prosperity. This carving measures about 6" tall by 4 1 4" in diameter (15 x 11 cm) w o the stand. Having been carefully displayed for many decades it is in good condition though the wood split on one side after the carved was finished.
