Antique Japanese c1890’s Kutani Lidded Jar Burnt Orange & Gold 11" Chashaku Sailerking or JapanPickerThis is an antique Japanese lidded jar from the Meiji Era, late 1800's. It was made at the Kutani kilns and all hand painted. Decorated all around in a burnt orange under glaze and painted over in gold makie. All hand painted in exquisite detail by a true master. The mythical Phoenix is featured prominently along with four wise priests on two panels. Height = 11. 25" (28. 5cm) Diameter = 7" (16cm) Base = 4" Weight = 4lbs 8oz
