It is shown here in its original, handcoloured form. Probably the finest map of Japan from the 18th century, you can see that the West's understanding of Japanese geography was still fairly limited. Honshu, Kyushu, and Shikoku are here but Hokkaido is completely missing. Instead, Kamchatka (part of Russia) is in the
