Antique Japanese Edo/Meiji Era (1800-1912) Hakari Tenbin Balance 6.5lbs 4.5" Rug A female fighter on whiteThis is an antique Japanese balance scale (hakari) weight dating to the late Edo to Meiji Era (1800 1912). It has Japanese writing on one side. It is bell shaped with a lanyard ring at the top to adjust up and down a pole scale. Decorated with an Phoenix motif. Height = 4 1 2" (11. 5cm) Diameter = 3 3 8" (8. 5cm) Weight = 6lb 9. 5oz With exception to some blemishes and oxidation it has a nice aged patina, it remains in very good functional condition.
