It is made of cast iron and is very small, only 3. 5" in diameter to boil water for tea. The body features hexagonal "hail stone" pattern rounds beneath a rectangular design at the neck supporting the lid. The lid itself is decorated in the same style. It is made of iron to hold more heat. The water from this tetsubin pours clear and will continue to do so as long as the pot is properly cared for.
