Class Cross, c. 1940 consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac flanked by the date “1944”(Feuerwehrehrenzeichen). Instituted June 22nd, 1936. Two piece construction in silvered bronze, white, black, and red enamels, with a band in the quadrants between the arms of the cross inscribed with Fr Verdienste im Feuerlschwesen (For Merit in Fire Fighting) in capitalised German lettering, the obverse with a white enamelled Greek cross bearing red enamelled flames on all arms of the cross with a central medallion bearing a mobile black enamelled
