Saxony, Kingdom. A War Commemorative Cross For 1866 Newly Listed before arriving at No(Erinnerungskreuz fr 1866). Instituted on 22 May 1867. A bronze cross, with bundles of rays in triangular form between the arms, the obverse centre presents the crowned letters JR encircled by a wreath of oak leaf branches, the reverse presents the date 1866 encircled by a wreath of oak leaf branches, measuring 30. 22 mm (w) x 30. 39 mm (h), on loop for suspension from period original combatant ribbon, and in very fine condition.
