The climatic condition is very similar to that of Fourchame. The soil is mainly composed of calcareous and clayey marl, which enhances the fertility and the structure of the ground itself. Vaulorent was not classified as Grand Cru for a purely political issue, but today it is considered one of the best premier cru together with Fourchame. It
