The recipient is Oberst (Colonel) Hans Ludwig Mller. The document is dated to Berlin on July 17, 1939. It is signed in blue ink on behalf of Generaloberst (Colonel General) Keitel by a Major Lennartz. The award is commonly known as the Sudetenland Medal. However, its official name is 1 October 1938
