France, II Empire. A Medal Of The Italian Campaign 1859 Auction Archive with only very minimal enamel(Mdaille commmorative de la campagne d'Italie de 1859). Instituted in 1859. In silver, engraver marked "BARRE" on the obverse, hallmarked on the reverse of the integral suspension, initials "V H" hand engraved on the edge, measuring 30. 5 mm in diameter, very light contact, original ribbon, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Commemorative Medal of the Italian Campaign 1859 was established by Napoleon III, following the 1859 French campaign in Italy
