Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath joined together at the base by a ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine eagle clutching a mobile swastika, surrounded by a stylized depiction of a sea mine exploding, the reverse with a crimped sheet metal hinge, vertical round wire pin, with a crimped rightward opening
