Russia, Imperial. A Cross Of St. George, Type I, C. 1816-1817, German-Manufactured For Prussian Troops, Rare Newly Listed A move to Hong Kong( ). Instituted in 1807. In silver, unmarked, German manufactured, as awarded to Prussian troops c. 1816 1817, an excellent example, measuring 43. 3 mm (w) x 48 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring, exhibiting light contact and spotting overall, on an original period ribbon, very fine. Footnote: The Cross of St. George was instituted on February 13, 1807 and awarded for courage in battle, initially in one grade, and later, as of 1856, in four grades.
