Constructed of gilded brass, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, surrounding a central raised German national eagle in mid flight, beneath a radiant sun and above a seascape with cliffs on the horizon, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat
