Netherlands, Kingdom. An Order of the Dutch Lion, Knight in Gold, c.1870 Province of China Footnote: Victor Egleston was born(De Orde van de Nederlandse Leeuw). Instituted by King William I of the Netherlands on 29 September 1815. A finely manufactured 18K Gold Maltese cross with white enamels and ball finials, stylized "W" in each quadrant representing King William I, obverse centre presenting a crowned Imperial Lion with sword, reverse centre in blue enamel presenting the order Motto Virtus Nobilitat, order adorned by finely made Royal crown which swivels on the ball
