He was captured by American soldiers in 1945 and convicted for his perpetration of the Bataan Death March as well as other crimes

Constructed of Gold plated metal, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath surrounding a 1914 Iron Cross, the reverse with an integral loop connecting to an original length of II Class award ribbon, unmarked, measuring 25. 66 mm in diameter, weighing 4. 5 grams (inclusive of ribbon), a striking example of patriotica in extremely fine condition.
