Germany, Wehrmacht. An Infantry Assault Badge, Silver Grade, By Deschler & Sohn GTRexclude Two RAD cap insignias(Infanterie Sturmabzeichen). Instituted 20 December 1939 by Generalfeldmarschall Walther von Brauchitsch. (Issued 1939 1945). Constructed of silvered zinc, obverse depicting an oval shaped oak leaf wreath topped by a German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika with a bow tie at the bottom, Karabiner 98k rifle with bayonet and carrying sling set diagonally across badge, maker marked with AS initial logo of Adolf Schwerdt, measuring 61. 88 mm (h)
