Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, surrounding a central Tyrol style German national eagle clutching a bullseye target defaced by a mobile swastika, in turn situated above a banner bearing a raised inscription of MEISTERSCHTZE 1943 (MASTER MARKSMAN 1943), the reverse stamped with an issue number of 2068, with a horizontal pinback crimped within a rectangular plate, unmarked,
