Polished Bauxite BAU117 Rhodonite The amphiboliteBAU117. Bauxite (laterite) rough rock, cut and polished on one side. Bauxite is the main raw material used in the commercial production of aluminium. Large reserves of this stone occur in Western Australia. This specimen is from east of the Darling Ranges just outside the city of Perth. Dimensions at widest points approximately 110 mm x 75 mm x 40 mm thick. Weighs 528 grams.
