The band broke through with their grunge scene mates Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden in the early 1990s and became one of the leaders of the new style of rock n roll, one that was equal parts gritty and plainspoken backed by distorted yet virtuosic musicianship. In 1992, AIC released Dirt, their sophomore album, which featured one of the band's hit songs "Sickman." While the track wasn't a single, it
