Instituted September 16th, 1572. In silver, an eight point star with clusters of faceted rays, the obverse medallion in Gold consisting of a white enameled Shamrock Cross with green enameled fans in the quadrants between the arms of the cross, the reverse bearing a vertical pin assembly flanked by dual stays, measures 85. 9 mm (w) x 86. 3 mm (h), weighs 71. 6 grams, marked on the catch with a lions head denoting
