Constructed of silvered brass with multi coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, surrounding a ribbed field overlaid by a red enameled square with a black and white centrepiece, the reverse with two blasted voids accommodating the attachment for the obverse applique, with a wide crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round
